CODE OF ETHICS

Associated Christian Television (ACTS), acknowledges the vital role, importance and influence on the general public of television, radio, internet, social media and streaming platforms as well as other emerging technologies of mass communication. ACTS also recognizes that the general public looks to Christians in media and ministry to bring conformity to ethical behaviour in management, broadcasting, business practices and fiscal responsibilities. The goal of ACTS Board of Directors is to foster and encourage excellence in Christian broadcasting by establishing and maintaining high standards with respect to content, method of presentation, speakers, qualifications and ethical practices. ACTS therefore, upholds the Bible as the standard by which we must evaluate all beliefs, instruction, policies and practices and therefore ACTS subscribes to the following Code of Ethics:
1. Members will conduct their personal life, organisational and corporate ministry and business affairs in a way that will not bring shame or reproach to the name of the Lord or its members and will not bring into disrepute the organization known as ACTS.

2. Members will speak the truth in love whether member to member, the public at large, their own organization or ministry or through their media outreach by whatever means they use.

2. Members will speak the truth in love whether member to member, the public at large, their own organization or ministry or through their media outreach by whatever means they use.

3. Members will recognise and respect what the Lord is doing through other individuals and organizations while refraining from unnecessary criticism of them.

4. Members will not use the media to knowingly speak falsely against anyone.

5. Members will not use their media platforms to stir up hatred toward any particular group.

6. When a member believes a fellow member has violated this Code of Ethics, they will bring the matter before the Board of Directors, without delay, together with any accompanying evidence or written reports. The Board of Directors will NOT entertain gossip but will investigate any bona fide information or concerns.

7. Members will honour their obligations to their vendors, neighbors, community and government.

8. In matters of dispute with other members, the member concerned will submit their grievance to the Board of Directors of ACTS for resolution rather than to the courts of the land. Nothing herein shall be construed so as to prohibit a member from expressing their genuine concern to another in a spirit of love.

9. Members will refrain from any sexual conduct or lifestyle which is inconsistent with Scripture or engage in any promotion of the same.

10. Associated Christian Television (ACTS) and it’s members will be required to comply with the laws of Canada and any other country where ACTS is registered and or where a member of ACTS resides with the exception of where the law contradicts the scriptures (the Bible) in such a way that Christians are required to compromise their ministry, faith and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ.
